Cancellation Policy

Due to a large number of recent last-minute cancellations, we have, unfortunately, had to instate a cancellation policy.

Dr. Sernik only has 3-4 appointment slots available each day, Monday – Thursday, and 2-3 on Fridays and Sundays. Two to three hours are set aside for each appointment to allow for travel time, and transport of pets for cremation.

On most days, families are turned away, because the available appointments are already filled. Last minute cancellations throw the whole day’s schedule off, and mean that families who wanted Dr. Sernik to help them were sent elsewhere, sometimes to the emergency clinic, denying them the peaceful home euthanasia that they wanted for their pets.

Going forward, a credit card will be required to reserve an appointment. Cancellation with 24 hour notice will not be assessed any penalty. Cancellation with less than 24 hour notice will incur a charge of $200, $100 of which may be applied to the cost when you reschedule. Cancellations less than 8 hours before the appointment will be charged $300, $150 of which be applied to cost when you reschedule.
