Meet the Team

A Compassionate Veterinarian Hello, I am Dr. Sharon Sernik. I grew up in New Orleans, and earned my undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. I graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in 1994. I have been married since 1992, have 3 wonderful children, and an assortment of pets.

After Veterinary school, I moved to Florida with my husband, where we lived for 18 years. I had a small animal practice in Orlando, but sold it when we moved to New Hampshire to pursue work opportunities for my husband, who is an engineer.

The Bond You Share

Both as a veterinarian and as a pet parent, I truly understand the bond between a person and a companion animal.  Animals are pure souls and give us their love and acceptance unconditionally. They trust us to do what is right for them.  Deciding when and how to let them go is one of the hardest decisions we have to make.

A Calling I have put my own pets to sleep in my home, and wanted to offer this option to others.  I have had many pets, and each one was a special soul to me.  Being able to say goodbye to them at home, knowing that they were as comfortable as possible, made that final, difficult goodbye a little easier.

I try to be as gentle as possible and to minimize stress for both pets and owners at this most difficult time.  This is more than a job for me; it is a calling.

Our Current Crew

Orly Orly is a Lab/Pittie/GSD mix from Alabama, adopted through For Dog's Sake Rescue. She is a real sweetie who is happiest out in the woods getting wet, muddy, rolling in gross stuff, & plotting how her sixth time challenging a porcupine will somehow have different results than the first five times.
Dayeinu Dayeinu is a former racing Greyhound. She broke her leg at the track & was very lucky to have been taken in by a good rescue. She was adopted from Greyhound Pets of America in Milton Mills, NH. She takes her retirement seriously, and now spends her days digging holes in the yard & keeping the couch from floating away. Vashti Vashti is some kind of Chihuahua/Min Pin/something mix adopted from Polk County Bully Project in Florida. She is truly a little ankle biter, but fortunately, her big sister Orly is VERY tolerant. She loves toys & snuggling, & fills our home with her energy. She lives up to her name (Google it) by not coming when called. Gronk Gronk makes enough trouble for three cats. Somehow, he can be in many places at once: sleeping on the clean laundry, shedding on our pillows, leaving decapitated rodent corpses in the shower, the list goes on. Good thing he's such a handsome guy! Nala Nala is a feisty little kitty born with a twisted spine. She needs help pottying, but don't feel sorry for her. She scoots around just fine, and can be found on any floor of the house.
